Tattoo Aftercare
You’ll need:
Liquid unscented soap: I recommend Dr. Bronner’s liquid unscented
Unscented moisturizer: Aquaphor, coconut oil, Lubriderm, Cetaphil
Clean paper towels or freshly washed bath towel
Healing with a Dermshield bandage
Leave the bandage on for 3-4 days. If the edges of the bandage get compromised (ie. water getting into your tattoo, or the edges are peeling up a lot) or if you experience a new flush of irritation from the bandage itself, remove the bandage. If you’re not sure whether to remove it email me and I can make a recommendation! When you are ready to remove it, I recommend taking a shower first as the steam will help it peel off. Discard the bandage and cleanse your tattoo immediately. To cleanse, wash gently with circular motions using your fingers, and thoroughly rinse the soap off. Let air dry, or pat dry with a clean paper towel or freshly washed bath towel.
Cleanse your tattoo twice a day, or more as needed if your tattoo gets exposed to anything dirty.
Once your tattoo has healed enough to start feeling dry/itchy, after cleansing and drying apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer with clean hands and gently rub it into your skin. Make sure the moisturizer isn’t too thick so the tattoo can breathe.
Continue aftercare for two weeks after receiving your tattoo.
Healing with a traditional bandage

Do’s and Don’ts:
Don’t touch the tattoo with unwashed hands
Don’t scratch the tattoo - you can lightly slap the tattoo instead if you need to!
Don’t pick at any scabs that may form! This can cause ink to fall out.
Don’t sweat extensively for at least the first week after your tattoo (saunas, intense workouts, hot yoga etc)
Don’t immerse the tattoo for an extended period (baths, swimming, hot tubs etc)
Do take showers and wash your tattoo
Do wear loose comfortable clothing while you are healing so your tattoo can breathe.
Do keep your tattoo away from pets and any other potential source of infection.
Do keep your tattoo clean, dry and ventilated!
Happy healing :)
